Imprint Group are sales and marketing representatives primarily covering the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. We also cover national and specialty retailers, national parks and monuments, wholesalers, distributors and catalogers for some of our clients.

Derek Lawrence is co-head of Imprint Group. He has over thirty-five years of experience in the book business having worked at three independent bookstores, including seven years at the Tattered Cover Bookstore in Denver, before taking his first publishing job at Roberts Rinehart Publishing in 1997. He later held sales director positions at Westcliffe Publishers and Interweave Press, was regional manager for Graphic Arts Center Publishing Company, and publisher of Speck Press and Fulcrum Trade (Fulcrum Publishing.) He has served as President of the Board of PubWest and served two terms as a member of the board at Mountains and Plains Independent Booksellers Association. An avid music fan and anglophile, when not talking about, selling, or reading books, you can find him spinning vinyl and planning walking tours in beautiful places.

Kurtis Lowe is co-head of Imprint Group. He is based in Seattle and covers the Pacific Northwest including Washington, Oregon, northern Idaho, and Alaska. Kurtis worked for Seattle’s Elliott Bay Book Co. for seven years with three years in the author event program. Kurtis ran Book Travelers West since 2001 and merged with Imprint Group in 2023.

Suzi Hough was born and raised in San Jose, CA. Today she and her tech journalist husband live in the heart of Silicon Valley. She was the store manager at Hicklebee’s before joining Imprint Group, and previously worked at Village House of Books in Los Gatos. Suzi is the co-chair of the Northern California Childrens Book Alliance. She loves to travel, visiting museums, drinking at tiki bars, and collecting tomes of local folklore wherever she goes.  Follow her on Instagram at @makaiju for recent reads and other bookish adventures.

Kevin Peters joined Book Travelers West in 2015, prior to merging with Imprint Group. For eleven years Kevin Peters represented Macmillan/Holtzbrinck into independent bookstores in Northern California and the Sierra Nevada and before that worked with Bayside Entertainment (wholesale distributor and sister company to Tower Records and Books/MTS Inc.) and at three Books Inc. bookstore locations in the Sacramento area. Since 2012, Kevin has provided independent regional publisher publicity support, media escorting/author transportation, planning assistance and consultation for author tours in Northern California through his own company Peters Literary Media.

John Votaw lives in San Diego County, CA with his wife LuVonne. He started in the book business in 1995, where he owned and operated an independent bookstore in Oregon for seven years. John was a field sales rep for DaySpring (Hallmark) for three years and Thomas Nelson Publishing for eight years before joining Imprint Group in 2013. He enjoys outdoor activities with his wife, three boys and two daughters-in-law.  Despite his time on the road for work, he still loves to travel and meet new people and learn about their life experiences.
